How to use essential oils

Essential oils can be used aromatically, topically and internally.

Aromatic use is through diffusion; either by spraying into the air, applying a drop to your hands, a cotton ball or tissue and inhaling directly, steam inhalation, humidifier or fan.

You can apply the essential oils topically by applying directly along their back, through massage, along reflex points, water misting, ear tipping. In certain situations you can use hot or cold compresses. Essential oils can simply be sprayed on objects your pet frequently use and they will receive the benefits that way.

Internal application can be as simple as mixing in with food, adding the appropriate amount of oil to a capsule or placing a drop on your finger, allowing it to dry mostly and then rub residue on their gums. A drop can be added to water for them to drink (not recommended for cats). Typically with cats, applying topically usually results in internal use as well.
